Are you a good person?
You really think so? So I'd say you're perfect. Hmmm, think again. Who's perfect? No one eh. You don't even need the 10 commandments to tell you that. For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all. James 2:10 Sounds unfair? Yeah, maybe. Besides, you've been a pretty good person most of the time what right? Hmm but think about it. A murderer cannot stand in front of a judge and say "Look judge, I committed the murder so long ago, but since then I've done so many other good things! Turned over a new leaf!" But still, every action has a consequence doesn't it. Nothing can be erased, really. Every lie, every hurt inflicted, every hateful thought. So here's the conclusion: I'm a sinner, you're a sinner. And I guess alot of people don't actually like to think about what comes after death. But there is something. And sinners don't go to heaven. That makes sense right? Because how can a righteous and holy and just God let sinners inside heaven. And where's left? Only hell. So guys, we have a problem. Hmmm. But there is a solution. There is a cure for this deadly disease of sin that condemns us to eternal hell. His name is Jesus Christ. For on this day every sin upon Him was laid, and He was pierced through for our transgressions, and crushed for our iniquity. Upon the cross, He hung there and died, to save this world. Jesus was God in Himself, but He took upon the image of a man. Now, think of it, you becoming a cockroach. Or any vilest thing that you can think of. Would you so demean yourself? Would you willingly forsake all you have? 2For He grew up before Him like a tender shoot, And like a root out of parched ground; He has no stately form or majesty That we should look upon Him, Nor appearance that we should be attracted to Him. 3He was despised and forsaken of men, A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; And like one from whom men hide their face He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Isaiah 53:2-3 And why? For you, for me. That we might be washed clean. When He died, every single sin of ours, of yours, was taken upon His back, that by His stripes we are healed (saved). He came down knowing what was in store for Him. He came down to die. Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13 There's no greater love than this. For every of your sins - that lie, that day you were rude to your parents, that day you talked about someone badly, that day you hated someone - He died. And He overcame death when He rose again 3 days later. He overcame sin! And now for those who believe, we live in victory. For death has no hold, no final say! My dear friends, readers, world, Has anyone died for you before? Now I say that the God of all the universe has died for You, hung upon a cross, for all your sins. Will you not repent? Or will you continue to deny that you are a sinner, and think, that's not important now, I'm not gonna die yet. Besides who is this God, I don't think I need Him. Friend, I implore you to look at your sin, I plead with you to see. Turn away from it, and know that it is only Jesus Christ who can wash you clean and present you blameless on that day of judgement. Can you truly say that when you stand in front of the Most High and Holy God, that you will have no blame in you? Will you choose to turn a blind eye, and not accept Him as your Lord and Master, submitting yourself fully under Him? Because only in Him, there is life, life to the abundant and the full, because of the hope of redemption. But if you cannot see your sin, do not even profess to be saved. Because Jesus came to save sinners. He did not come to enhance your life, though indeed there is a multitude of blessings in Him. He came to seek and save the lost - those who recognize that they can do nothing, and only He is able. I beg and implore you my friends. See your sin, and turn from it, know the Saviour, and trust in Him. Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent. 20'Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. Revelations 3:19-20 May you not harden your heart's door, but take a moment. Take a moment at least, to speak to this God, this Saviour, this one who gave His life for you, who loves you so so so deeply. Who was willing to die for this fallen world of sinners, for you and me, regardless of who we were or are, regardless of our many sins. Take a moment to ponder about His sacrifice, and why He had to come. And may you come into the saving knowledge in the Lord Jesus Christ, of His love, His saving power, and the undeserved grace that He gave. Blessed Good Friday.
